So no Pulitzer for fiction this year. What does that say about our best sellers? Anyone have a book(fiction) from 2011-2012 that they would recommend? Afraid I don’t know of any.
Here is an interesting story from Robert Krulwich about Reading Upside Down If you’ve read Angels and Demons you’ve seen some of these and they are always fun. (I don’t think it is a coincidence that the cryptologist in the book and the artist mentioned in this story are both named Langdon.)
Take a look at this graph from The Atlantic and notice how reading rates have improved over the past 50 years. This data predates ebook growth. I suspect the numbers would be higher today. Gallup data here Link to The Atlantic article here
The word is WHOA. I don’t care how many times you’ve seen it on the internet as woah or whoah, you are wrong if you spell it that way. So stop it.
